Personally, I love a good chalkboard wall—especially if you are a creative or expressive person! I love leaving behind little inspirational sayings for my family to read throughout the day or school week.

My daughters personally have a chalkboard wall in their room, which they switch out every quarter. It’s fun to see what inspires them as they grow!

1. Add some flare to your workspace!

These days, with homeschooling or working from home, chalkboard walls serve a great purpose as part of your child’s educational space for learning at home, or for adding a little flare t your home office. My favorite are chalkboard walls, made of chalkboard paint with magnetic qualities, so you can use magnets to add pictures or images to your space too.

2. Get creative with the colors!

Don’t forget, chalkboard paint comes in many different colors and can be used even as a backsplash to a bar or coffee area in your kitchen. And of course, you can never go wrong with the classic black chalkboard wall, and mix it up with some colored pieces of chalk.

3. How about a warm welcome for your guests?

One idea I’ve always wanted to try is to add a chalkboard area to the foyer or even front door of a home. It would be so much fun to see what notes guests leave behind after a party or dinner or event.

4. It’s ok to think small.

If you’re looking to add a little chalkboard area, but you don't want it to take up an entire wall in your home, add a decorative frame directly to the wall and paint with chalkboard paint inside the frame space. This is a great way to add a little flare, without committing to a larger space.

Bonus! A little tidbit for cleaning chalkboard walls—use Coke or Sprite in a spray bottle and clean with a wet rag, followed by a dry rag to buff out. Works like a charm.
